Visual Arts
Primary students spend time in the Art room and create, make and talk about their art in 2 and 3 dimensional activities and in many cases putting their work on display. Emphasis is placed on learning manual skills and exploring media and techniques appropriate to each year level.
In the Secondary years, students begin by rotating across a 2 year program of semester based units. Years 7 & 8 experience Art, Textiles, Media, Visual Communication with emphasis on design and development of individual ideas in the art and technology design processes. Students are made aware of the OHS requirements in each area and encouraged to develop individual thinking processes to create personalised projects to satisfy the set tasks. Skills, techniques and processes developed at this level create the basis for electives through years 9 &10 and into VCE and VET studies.
