Student Wellbeing

Student Wellbeing

Derrinallum College's focus is to strengthen the supports available for students and enrich the college's holistic view to well-being for students, Staff and the wider community.

The CultureTeam which encompasses well-being is developing a whole school approach to Respectful Relationships and introduced the Advocacy Program to years 7-10.  The Advocacy Program is designed to increase school connectedness and promote health and well-being by teaching students to think positively and proactively manage their schooling as they progress into senior years.

The Well-being team work to educate students about the purpose and meaning of special days such as the National Day of Action Against Bullying and "R U OK?" Day.  Promoting mental health and helping to develop young citizens who will contribute positively to our community.

Derrinallum P-12 has a variety of student wellbeing programs.   Students may also be referred to DET Student Support Services for specialised support with speech pathology, counselling or for assessment of their learning needs.
