Facilities
Derrinallum College is a rural Foundation- Year 12 school set in 5 hectares of land, away from the busy Hamilton Highway. The College facilities feature a well equipped library/resource center, music room, technical workshop, indoor sports center, indoor gymnasium, specialist science rooms and technology areas for textiles, food and wood, as well as a centrally located administration block and canteen. The F-6 learning area was refurbished in 2008 and the 7-9 learning area was refurbished in 2010. More recently the Indoor Sports Stadium has had it's floor completely resurfaced in 2019 and all student toilets and change rooms have been painted or refurbished, the 11/12 common room has had a kitchenette installed. The corridor ceiling in the east wing has been entirely replaced after it was substantially damaged during the hail storm that swept through Derrinallum in January causing wide spread damage across the community. The staff have had their workspace gutted, painted and new carpets installed as well as re-furnished. The staff lunch room has had a new kitchenette installed and will be painted in the coming months and we are currently refurbishing the Business Centre off the Trade Training Wing. The college has developed a 5 year plan in which will see maintenance as well as upgrading across the school, including the installation of new interactive whiteboards in 10 classrooms during term 4.
