Welcome back to all students, staff and families. We have had a smooth start to the new school year and our students appear to be well placed to embrace the many opportunities and challenges that 2012 has in store for them. I would like to extend a particularly warm welcome to our fifteen new students and their families.

The College is very proud of the achievements of the Year 12 Class of 2011. All of our graduating students achieved results which enabled them to access their preferred courses and pathways and with our median Year 12 study score of 31, Derrinallum College has once again topped the list of south-west schools. This a great credit to the dedication of our students, staff and families.

2012 will be a year in which all of our students, from Prep through to Year 12, will be challenged and supported to achieve their personal best at Derrinallum College.

Cherie Kilpatrick, Principal

Welcome to our new site! It has been a while since Derrinallum P12 has had a website, but we are now back on track in the technological sense. Enjoy the content as the site grows, and please feel free to make comments and suggestions along the way. We’d like for parents, teachers and students to be able to enjoy and utilize this, our own little place on the world wide web, so all feedback is welcome.

The College offers an excellent educational program for all year levels Prep to 12.  In a caring, family environment we have small classes, personal attention, greater access to resources and facilities and a supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve success, develop a sense of pride and independence, become responsible and contributing members of a learning community, and acquire the skills needed to live in a diverse and changing society.

In terms of guiding principles the expectations of students is that they will:

·                    be committed to high academic standards and life-long learning.

·                    display a consistent commitment to improvement of skills and knowledge.

·                   develop self discipline, demonstrating an ability to commit themselves to completing set work

                    and homework tasks.

·                    value quality performance by taking pride in work completed.

·                    respect the workplace, the teachers and other students.

·                    be useful community members.
