School Zones:
Our School ZoneOur school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.
Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.
Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

Foundation (Prep) Enrolments
All government primary schools will follow the timeline in 2025 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2026 school year. To be eligible for Foundation enrolment in a Victorian State Primary School, a child must turn 5 on or before the 30th April of the year they commence school.

What you need to do:
Year 7 Enrolments:
The Department of Education has a statewide Year 6 to 7 placement timeline.Victorian government primary schools manage the placement of their Year 6 students in accordance with the timeline. At the start of Term 2, primary schools will distribute information packs to parents and carers.

General Enrolments:
We can also consider offering placement to students transferring from another school in Levels P to 12 during the current school year or at the start of Term 1 2024. Please contact the office to discuss your family's situation.

Our Foundation and Year 7 Transition Programs commence from October each year for confirmed students. Official contact will commence the beginning of Term 4. Further information will be provided to parents/guardians.
The state-wide transition day for all Victorian students from Foundation to Year 12 is on a Tuesday 9 December, 2025.

What you need to do:
- Contact Derrinallum College to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process. At Derrinallum College, we work closely with our local kindergartens to make sure all families are aware and included in our enrolment process which starts from May 2025.
- Download the Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parets and Carers from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
- Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 25 July 2025. These will be given to the local kindergartens at the beginning of June for all children attending kindergarten. Families who have also made contact, will be provided with an enrolment pack at this time.
- You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025.
- Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025. Kinder visits will occur as part of our local kinder transition program throughout Terms 2& 3, 2025.

- Copy of Child's Birth Certificate (we can photocopy the original for you in the office)
- Child's Immunisation History Statement - Medicare/MyGov (this can be emailed to the school and we can print for you)
